Here is my position: I am a senior at Oklahoma U in the business college (well-respected part of the college) majoring in accounting. I have a 3.9 GPA and was thinking about applying for the master’s program. I am an army veteran and just joined AFROTC. I was thinking about perhaps doing army rotc with GRFD scholarship. THat way I could stay in the reserves as an officer after i graduate and try to find a good job in the corporate world. Or, I could continue to pursue active duty in the air force as an officer, work towards my masters while i finish the program, retire after 15 years and then get into the corporate world. I suppose if i only stayed in the army reserves I would try to earn my CPA license. Being a 2nd LT with so many years of service already I would start around 60K, be somewhere close o 90 after about 3 years, and be able to retire by time I’m 43. Active duty I would have free health care for me and my family; however, the reserve health care is not too bad at all either, and my reserve pay check would more than cover the bill. Ok, so maybe I gave more than just money details, so any suggestions would be nice from a monetary stand point or not. I guess in short, what do you all think it would be the better option. Open Question: Are there any hospital administrator or nursing home admin. jobs? 10 points to the best answer? Resolved Question: Are Democrats sick to wheel in sickly ancient KKK member to vote to approve Death Panels for elderly & infirm? What crepes! And creeps too! The UK Telegraph runs with the Democratic creepspin: Republicans have been accused of setting a new low for etiquette in the US Senate by forcing a 92-year-old wheelchair-bound Democrat to appear three times in four days to ensure the passage of a contentious health care reform bill. Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia was wheeled in to cheers and backslaps from colleagues at 1am on Monday, then 7.30am on Tuesday and was due to make his final – and crucial – appearance this on Thursday morning at 8am. His fragile health has caused him to miss 40 per cent of this year’s roll calls, and he has been attended by a private nurse for much of the past two years. However, he overcame a record-breaking blizzard and even apparent prayers for his demise to provide the vital 60th vote the Democrats needed to block delaying tactics by the opposition. Before the first of the three procedural votes was taken on Sunday, Senator Tom Coburn, a Republican of Oklahoma, said from the senate floor: “What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can’t make the vote tonight,” he said. “That’s what they ought to pray.” Senator Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, expressed his shock. “This statement goes too far,” he said. “We are becoming more coarse and divided here … When it reaches a point where we’re praying, asking people to pray, that senators wouldn’t be able to answer the roll call, I think it has crossed the line.” Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, who is a robust 79, said: “I have been worried about Senator Byrd living through the physical trauma of the past few weeks. It is an inevitable thought when you see him rolled into the chamber at 1am. Compelling Senator Byrd to vote needlessly is a new Senate low mark.” “I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side… Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds. ” — Robert C. Byrd, in a letter to Sen. Theodore Bilbo (D-MS), 1944 Byrd was the fiercest opponent of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He was one of the Democrats who filibustered against that Act for 83 days. (Would we have had 83 days to consider this massive health care bill!) Byrd, himself, went 14 hours in one turn of the filibuster! The man’s KKK heritage can not be ignored.

Resolved Question: How do i become a hospital administrator? Resolved Question: GOP health care Amendment would require congress to participate in the the plan they are currently forming? “Two Senate Democrats have joined Sen. Sherrod Brown’s (D-Ohio) effort to jump onto a GOP healthcare amendment. Sens. Chris Dodd (Conn.) and Barbara Mikulski (Md.) filed a unanimous consent request with Brown on Friday to co-sponsor an amendment being drafted by GOP Sens. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and David Vitter of Louisiana. The legislation would require lawmakers to join a public insurance plan included in healthcare legislation. Vitter is also considering proposing banning physician services currently available to legislators at the Capitol as well as taxpayer-funded services they are allowed at Bethesda Medical Center and the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. “If we have a public option in this plan — and my hope is that we will — then I think there is nothing wrong with insisting that members of Congress be included,” Dodd said. “We support it in our committee, and I’m prepared to support it again here on the floor of the United States Senate.” “I want to add my name to Sen. Coburn’s amendment,” Brown said in a floor speech on Friday. “Seventeen years ago, when I first ran for Congress, I promised I’d pay my own health insurance until Congress passed health insurance for everyone. I’ve paid it out of my pocket since then. I look forward with great eagerness to join the public option as soon as it’s available.” Brown sent a Tweet upon leaving the Senate floor that he has been allowed to join the Coburn-Vitter effort. A Coburn spokesman, however, pointed out that Brown actually voted against the Coburn amendment when the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee debated it. “We’re delighted to have Sen. Brown’s support of Dr. Coburn’s amendment, particularly after he voted against it in HELP Committee,” said spokesman John Hart. “We’re glad that he shares our view that members of Congress should lead by example and enroll themselves in the public option.” A Brown spokeswoman said Coburn offered a different amendment in the HELP Committee, one that would require members of Congress plus their staffs to enroll in a public option plan. The current Coburn-Vitter amendment which Brown is co-sponsoring would only apply to members of Congress. A Vitter spokesman also said Friday that Vitter has no objection to any Democrats co-sponsoring the amendment. So far 3 democrats are along with republicans, but the rest of the democrat party is against the amendment. What are your thoughts? Shouldn’t the policiians participate on the plan that they are legislating for the rest of us, and not have a special plan just for themselves?
